Red Sonja by Mel Rubi

I found this for sale on eBay quite a while ago, unfortunately it was well out of my price range, but managed to save a copy of the image.

Enjoy.

The art of FRANK BRUNNER...

I found this piece on Ebay...and it's currently still listed if you want to take the chance.  Along with it was a signed copy of the issue the original Frank Brunner art appeared on.  I'd take a shot at it...but theres a chance I could win and then I won't have the money to pay.  Because that's how my luck works.  Anyway...enjoy the cool original art by the esteemed Mr. Frank Brunner.

Blue Concept Art

Concept artwork for Red Sonja : Blue by Walter Geovani, who for me is one of the best artist's to depict Big Red (I just wish Dynamite would get him back on the regular series), showing Sonja in her replacement attire, which is a homage to her 1980's apparel (though missing the black and yellow sash around her waist).
The finished article, personally I thought this was a welcome change to the chainmail bikini and would have liked to have seen her carry on wearing it for a while. Oh well, I can dream.
Enjoy.

Sonja & Friends in Dynamite's Prophecy

I may be the odd-man-out here, but I'm not a huge fan of Paul Renaud's Red Sonja covers - I really prefer Jusko's, Parillo's, Linsner's and...well, pretty much any of the artists who paint her likeness - though the "paint" is as likely to have been applied to the canvas electronically these days.

But I have to admit that the Sonja gracing the most recent (and not actually read until yesterday) cover of Dynamite's Prophecy (issue 3) is pretty damn impressive. (Yeah, I'm a bit behind on my comic reading. My unread comics now fill over two long boxes in my garage.)

I was planning to scan the cover of my own copy of the book to get a super-mega-hi-res image, but I haven't quite gotten around to it yet, so enjoy this image of the cover lifted from the interweb.

As far as the story between the covers...well, it's pretty silly (Sonja chasing Kulan Gath through time and uniting with other characters from Dynamite's large-breasted stable to take him down). It's illustrated about as well as most of Dynamite's books.

It's not exactly a "must buy" for Red Sonja fans, but I generally pick up anything Sonja-related I can find. This issue might be worth acquiring for the cover alone.

Sonja online & Sale

I have been enjoying reading all sorts of Red Sonja back lists on my tablet.

Thanks to Comixolgoy I can buy tons of Red Sonja comics and get them sent right to my tablet, phone or computer.

So I thought I'd mention that there is a sale for the next three days on "Dynamite Damsels".

It's not all the Red Sonja titles. But this would be a good way to get caught up.
