Red Sonja at The Black Gate

Hello all,

Thought I would pass along a link to The Black Gate, a fantasy literature blog. Michael Penkas emailed me to let me know he is doing reviews of the early Marvel appearances. His Red Sonja mentions can be found here.

The Wizard and Red Sonja Show

A while back we posted a little about the "The Wizard and Red Sonja Show" from "The Erotic Worlds of Frank Thorne #6".

While doing a little research I found this older blog post with a lot of photos and some scans of the original comic.  http://bronzeageofblogs.blogspot.com/2009/06/frank-thorne.html
And these newer ones, http://www.anthonypryor.com/?p=1203 (sorta), http://www.anthonypryor.com/?p=1220 and http://www.anthonypryor.com/?p=1235 (better).

The original comic is fairly tongue in cheek and a lot of nods to long time Red Sonja readers/fans, but certainly worth the read.

Some Red Sonjas at a recent con.
Thanks to Cal at his Canadian Cave of Coolness for this one!

Red Sonja from Hasslefree Miniatures

Hasslefree Miniatures are a web based company that produce some high quality gaming miniatures for the role playing and war games market for reasonable prices (they also bundle in sweets with each purchase which is nice). They recently produced a Red Sonja miniature, named Sana (probably for copyright reasons). She is supplied unpainted and will set you back £4.17 for a metal version and £11.66 for resin. Not bad prices for a 28mm high miniature.

She can be found in the Fantasy Human section at http://www.hfminis.co.uk/

This one is mine and painted by yours truly.

Red Sonja Unchained

Upcoming mini series by Peter V Brett and following on from the events of Red Sonja Blue. February is going to be a good month (if the world doesn't end that is...)

Nelson Dániel

Nelson Dániel has been a favorite of mine for a while, but I do not follow comic art much. I first found him through some awesome Luchador art. It seems now he has a book of female heroines, though not being a Spanish speaker/reader, I am not entirely sure. Anyway, he included Big Red, which I am sharing below.

Check out his blog sometime. I think he does some awesome work.

"Rosanna Rocha Cosplayer" as RED SONJA

Genius writer and sword collector David J. West shared with me a fantastic photo of a fabulous female cosplayer.  She's got a Facebook page...go make friends.  I would but...I'm married.  ;P
Thank you David...you are a Champ!!!!

Sonja at the Cave of Cool

Up past the Northern borders of 'Merica sits Calvin's Canadian Cave of Coolness. Standing vigilant and protecting us all from the dreaded cephalopod invasion.

He recently ran a nice set of pictures featuring our favorite she-devil.

Pop on over and have a look.
Say hi while you are there.

Red Sonja #76 and new creative team

Red Sonja #76 features a new creative team, with Eric Trautman saying goodbye with #75, Brandon Jerwa will be handling the writing duties, while Jack Jadson will be handling the artwork. Shame to see Eric go as he has given us (well at least me) some enjoyable stories over the last 2 years or so.
The other big news is that this new arc follows on from the Prophecy mini series, not sure I like the sound of that but perhaps it can be handled well.

ON SALE DATE: January 30
The Crimson Well" (part 1 of 6) - The She-Devil has been suspiciously absent for nearly a full season. There are many rumors and tall tales surrounding her disappearance, but the truth of the matter is far more outlandish, and terrifying, than any tavern story. Following the PROPHECY event, Red Sonja has placed herself in exile, desperately hoping to protect the world from the demonic influence that threatens to consume her very soul.

Joe Jusko : Red Sonja: She-Devil with a sword!!!

Joe was recently at a convention and did a few pieces just to pass time.  This beauty is one of'em.  It is a beauty.    Just to kill time?  Sheesh!!!
